A message from the artists who contributed to War Child Canada’s Help: A Day In The Life CD:
As artists there are times when we feel powerless to do anything to fix the systemic injustices that exist in the world. But in contributing to this album - along with Radiohead, Coldplay, Gorrillaz, Damien Rice, Keane, Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party and Surefire - we’ve been able to add our voices and our songs to an organization that is making a difference – War Child Canada.
We are asking people to support Help: A Day In The Life. By doing so - whether inspired by the music, the artists, or the cause – they will be doing something remarkable: they will help give a child in the Congo the opportunity to receive an education for the first time in seven years; they will help to provide food, water, shelter and health care to children orphaned by AIDS in Ethiopia; help train a widow in Afghanistan and make it possible for her to feed her family; help defend the rights of children abducted by the Lord’s Resistance Army in northern Uganda, help build a public school for girls in Baghdad, and help promote peace in war torn regions of Sri Lanka.
We hope Help: A Day In The Life will give voice to those who need to be heard the most. With help War Child Canada can continue to empower war-affected children to create a better future for themselves and their communities.
Enjoy the music and stay connected.
