Friends for War Child - concert 2006

Nearly 10,000 Friends of War Child attended the annual Friends for War Child concert in a packed Ahoy stadium.

A fantastic line-up included stars like Ali B., Blof, Marco Borsato, and Di-rect.

The artists asked for awareness and support for the countless number of children who still live in the harsh circumstances of war and for the work of War Child.

A few very special moments were reserved for Jacky, a former child-abductee who now works for War Child in Uganda, helping other children coping with their horrific experiences of war. This year’s theme of the concert was “Child Soldiers”.

War Child Canada have just launched the bilingual website get loud / plus fort ; bringing together contributions of Canadian musicians and youth
-  about humanitarian issues and how they can become part of the solution.

get loud / plus fort is more than just a music website. It is the go-to website for young people interested in getting plugged into the world around them. The site also offers extensive resources for educators to integrate global justice issues into their classrooms.

September 21st - Peace comes alive by LIVE WEBCAST
